Darío García de Viedma is Analyst at the Elcano Royal Institute in the fields of technology and digital policy.

He currently teaches Big Data for Political Communication at Universidad Camilo José Cela and Instituto Atlántico de Gobierno. Prior to this, he served as Associate Director at the Center for the Governance of Change at IE University, conducting research, training and outreach at the intersection of technology and governance, which covered issues such as the governance of emerging technologies, foresight, and tech diplomacy.

During his career in Artificial Intelligence (AI), he contributed to building Citibeats, an ethical-AI software designed to help decision-makers prevent crises using open-source data. At Citibeats, he conceptualized machine learning models to measure complex aspects of public opinion such as social unrest, distrust, and polarization. He has worked as a policy consultant with institutions in more than 90 countries.

García de Viedma earned his degree in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris, followed by a Master of Science in Social Research Methods from the London School of Economics.
