David Hernández Martínez
David Hernández Martínez is a non-resident fellow at the Elcano Royal Institute.
He currently lectures International Relations at the UCM and in the master’s program in Peace, Security, and Defence at the General Gutiérrez Mellado University Institute.
He is a member of the Complutense University’s International Peace and Security Group, the Complutense University’s Research Group on the Maghreb and the Middle East, and Taller de Estudios Internacionales Mediterráneos (UAM).
He holds a PhD in International Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), with international distinction. He also holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and Development from the UCM, a Diploma in National Defense Studies from CESEDEN, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the UCM.
Research Areas
His principal areas of research are regional dynamics and political changes in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the Gulf, Spain’s foreign policy towards the Arab world, and international security.
