The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has aroused the strong condemnation of world public opinion and the vast majority of States. However, as the vote of the United Nations General Assembly on March 2 showed, the situation is much more plural in Asia. This session will analyse the posture of key Asian actors such as China, India and Japan, the Central Asian former Soviet republics of Central Asia and the ASEAN countries in the face of this conflict. The possible implications of the war in Ukraine for the security of Asia will also be discussed, with special reference to hot spots such as the Taiwan Strait.
