Spanish Ambassador to Senegal


ABOUT DOLORES

María Dolores Ríos Peset is Spanish Ambassador to Senegal. 

Until February 2024, Ríos Peset has been Ambassador-at-Large for Migration Affairs. Previously, she has served in the Spanish embassies in Bolivia, Colombia, Namibia, Paraguay, Mexico, Ecuador and Cape Verde. She has also held different positions in the Spanish missions abroad as Second-in-Command, Consul General and Cultural Counselor. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs she has held different positions: in the General Directorate for International Economic Relations, in the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), where she was Deputy Director General of Cooperation with Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, and in the Secretariat of State for the European Union, where she was lastly an Advisor for Parliamentary Affairs in the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for the European Union. 

Ríos Peset holds a Degree in Law with an extraordinary award from the University of Valencia. She entered the diplomatic career in 1991.
