In its fourth edition, the Elcano Forum on Global Terrorism (EFGT), undoubtedly the leading yearly public event on the theme in Spain, was focused on substantive knowledge and critical assessment of practical experiences about prevention of violent radicalization leading to jihadist terrorism, as well as about initiatives aiming at de-radicalization and rehabilitation of individuals who became involved in such a current and worldwide present expression of the terrorist phenomenon.

Throughout the various sessions of EFGT 2016, open debates followed key interventions on issues concerning prevention of violent radicalization programs in different domains, and on de-radicalization and rehabilitation measures, always with respect to jihadist terrorism, by academic experts, local leaders and specialized practitioners from Spain, France, Belgium, Sweden, United States, Israel, Morocco and Singapore.
