Rear Admiral José Luis Enrech de Acedo is Director of the Naval Warfare College (EGN, in Spanish).

Previously, also at the EGN, he was Head of the Plans Division of the NATO’s Joint Force Command Naples (JFCNP) and responsible for planning and conducting operations on NATO’s southern flank. In addition to the EGN, he also directs the Centro de Pensamiento Naval, a think tank on naval issues. He previously held, among others, the positions of Commander, Second-in-Command and Chief of Operations on board frigates, corvettes, and patrol boats, and participated in numerous national and international operations.

He was born in Chandler (Arizona, USA), and entered the Escuela Naval Militar of Marín in 1977, completing the five years of his career and obtaining the rank of Ensign in 1982. In the academic field, he teaches in courses for promotion to Senior Officer, and collaborates with the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies at the Complutense University of Madrid.
