Wednesday, 5th November 2025, from 17:00 to 18:30 h. CET (UTC+1). Venue: Simón Bolívar Room, Casa de América (Plaza de Cibeles, s/n, 2nd floor, Madrid).

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) represent a key tool to enhance efficiency in health services, optimize available resources, and improve both access to and quality of medical care. For this to happen, it is necessary to foster a digital transformation in the sector —a deep technological, cultural, and organizational shift that leads to more effective and efficient health systems.

The policy paper ‘Reimagining Latin American health systems in the digital era’ aims to generate evidence on the barriers and enabling factors to implementing public policies for the digital transformation of the health sector using the case studies of four countries in the region: Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico.
