ABOUT MARíA

María Sicilia is Head of Electricity Systems and Markets at the International Energy Agency (IEA). She also serves as an independent advisor in leading Spanish listed companies such as Soltec Power Holdings and Tubos Reunidos Group.

Her career in the energy sector has developed in top-level organisations, both national and international, in both the public and private sectors.

She is an Aspen España Fellow and a member of the Spanish Chapter of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).

She holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and in Business Administration from the Universidad San Pablo-CEU, a master’s in public policy and economics from the National Institute of Public Administration/ENA and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) respectively. She has completed executive development programs at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
