Venue: Círculo de Bellas Artes
Tuesday, 28th October 2025, from 16:00 to 17:30 h. CET (UTC+1). Venue: Círculo de Bellas Artes – Sala Valle-Inclán (C/ Marqués de Casa Riera nº2, 5ª planta, Madrid).
The European Union is facing a decisive period with enormous challenges ahead: economic and geopolitical transformations, the climate crisis, digital transition and security tensions.
Although these challenges directly affect younger generations, their participation and attention to their priorities in the decision-making processes remain limited. Bridging this gap between young people and institutions is essential to strengthening the future of the European project.
With the support of the Hablamos de Europa programme promoted by the Secretary of State for the European Union, the Elcano Royal Institute has launched Generación Europa. Following a competitive selection process, the project brought together fifteen young participants who worked for several months on six strategic areas for the future of the Union: democracy, institutions, enlargement and reform; energy, climate change and sustainability; relations with the global south and neighbouring countries; security and defence; technology and the economy; and transatlantic relations. The result is a collective paper reflecting diagnoses and proposals from an intergenerational perspective.
During this event, each thematic group will share its main findings, offering accurate diagnoses and concrete proposals that enrich the debate on the future of Europe. The added value of this work lies in combining the vision of Spanish youth with the expertise of the Elcano’s research team, providing an innovative and diverse contribution to the discussion on European policies.
