Growing pressure on Spain’s water resources, exacerbated by climate change, underscores the urgent need to strengthen water resilience. Meeting this challenge requires not only technical and economic measures, but also broad social acceptance and active citizen engagement.
Based on a representative survey, the policy paper examines public perceptions, levels of knowledge and behavioral intentions regarding water management, as well as citizens’ willingness to support measures such as water reuse and desalination. Experts from the public, private and academic sectors will discuss the findings and the key challenges in delivering sustainable water management in Spain.
