The UN Climate Change Conference (COP30 – #COP30) will take place from 10 to 21 November in Belém, Brazil. This year’s priorities focus on the efforts needed to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 °C, the presentation of new national action plans (NDCs) and progress on the financial commitments made at COP29.
The objectives of COP30 are to rebuild trust in international cooperation for climate action, align climate policy with people’s realities, and move from promises to concrete action, focusing on delivering on already agreed results and commitments, primarily those of the Paris Agreement.
The Elcano Royal Institute is participating in the 30th COP meeting by co-organising official side events (UNFCCC) and participating in events at the Spanish Pavilion, with its research team acting as moderators and speakers.
