In 2009 the Board of Trustees of the Elcano Royal Institute approved the creation of a new committee to promote the fulfilment of its goals and objectives. The Media Committee, which has an advisory and consultancy capacity, has been conceived as a permanent and stable means of ensuring the cooperation between the Institute and Spain’s leading media groups with the aim of informing the public at large about international relations and Spain’s strategic position in the world. The Committee has a plural character and is made up of the Royal Institute’s Chairman, a designated member of the Board of Trustees and representatives of designated media groups who share an interest in the Institute’s aims. The Committee advises the Elcano Royal Institute on planning its activities and cooperates in bringing them to the public’s attention.
