The fifth edition is focused on the boom in new business in Eastern Europe, and the business regulation reform in large emerging markets (India, China, Egypt, Turkey and Indonesia). This year Eastern Europe has surpassed Asia in the ease of doing business. The Doing Business project is developed by the World Bank.

The 2007 edition examines what citizens on both sides of the Atlantic think about the state of transatlantic relations under the new leadership in Europe and in advance of the 2008 U.S presidential elections, about the perceptions of international threats (terrorism, energy dependence, immigration and global warming), democracy promotion as a foreign policy goal and Turkey’s relations with the West. This annual survey is a project of the German Marshall Fund of the U.S and the Compagnia di San Paolo, with additional support provided by Fundação Luso-Americana, Fundación BBVA and the Tipping Point Foundation.

This study highlights that all Islamist/Jihadi websites are hosted directly or through sub servers by Western (primarily American) Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The document -prepared by The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI)- also discusses the question of what can be done about it, and stresses that most - if not all - ISPs do not know the content of the websites they are hosting, since most of them are in Arabic.

In its recent report, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) notes that the region is less vulnerable today than it was in the past, given its current account surpluses, large international reserves, lower levels of external indebtedness, sounder fiscal positions and more flexible exchange-rate policies.

The Government of China formulated the CNCCP, outlining objectives, basic principles, key areas of actions, as well as policies and measures to address climate change for the period up to 2010.
