Activities

To fulfil its aims, the Elcano Royal Institute conducts a broad range of activities:

It produces Elcano Working Papers (WP) of an academic analytical nature and Analyses of the Elcano Royal Institute, known in abbreviation as ARI. By this means the Institute studies and analyses international developments on all fronts and  to what extent they are likely to affect Spain.

It pursues other publishing initiatives, such as the Barometer of the Real Instituto Elcano (BRIE) and the  Boletín/Newsletter -a combined format that includes the Elcano’s latest web publications in both English and Spanish-, together with Books and Elcano Reports published on an ad hoc basis.

It posts all these works and, where relevant, those of other organisations on its website (in Spanish and English language versions) www.realinstitutoelcano.org/wps/portal.

It organises round tables, conferences, presentations, seminars and bilateral forums. The need today for a network of contacts between institutions and individuals has led the Institute to cooperate, by means of such events, in establishing channels of communication to promote the development of international and strategic studies.
